Podcasts are free. I use iTunes and there are a ton of podcasts there, covering hundreds of subjects. I also use podcasts from a photo website with no problems.

I'm not familiar with Audible.com though

    Mike,

Not sure but 50% of what I'm looking for is not free. Not bad, but not free. Car Talk / Click and Clack doesn't come free but need to join Audible for ? then pay for Car Talk after 30 days. :(

Podcasting is not limited to iPods, but I stand by iPods as they best players on the market. :)

Audible.com is one of the best spots and most credible spots to get discounts on audio books for your Ipod. This site automatically downloads into Itunes making it a seemless transaction. Audible and Itunes work together to prevent duplication of most book sales so that they will not be competing against each other.

Audible.com also offers many "pay as you go" podcasts. Though the majority of podcasts are free, many groups have started charging for them to cover production costs. Car Talk is currently the only NPR based show that charges for their podcast. The podcast can be purchased per show or as a subscription item. This can be purchased from both audible or Itunes. The user can only download an episode if a valid username and password is entered.

Kim Komando (computer talk) is another of the recently added podcasts that are charging for their production effort.

Hopefully in the future, these podcasts will pick up sponsors so that the addition of commercials into the podcast will allow these shows to be published free.

Well I started paying for the Laura Ingraham show for PODCAST she's $6 a month or $45 a year. Then Car Talk would be $10 for Audible for the year, then add $10 a month for Car Talk like the show but they need to get bent.
Then add the fact All Things Considered can't be found at all, but Wait Wait don't tell me is funny and Free so I cool there.
