Pics and impressions!

I know, I know...
Pics hopefully in a couple days, been too damn busy. I absolutely love it, took a while to get used to the different sound. I was really impressed with the authority on movies, but the refinement on music was just shy of astonishing. Made everything sound so much more real and viceral, without being "in your face" about it... until it needs to be. I found I am listening to a lot more music now, even though I built it primarily for HT. Really, really cool.
I am running 4 15" Dayton DVC in line array with a crown 402 and a BFD. Haven't got around to setting up a house curve yet, but I am really excited to.
I would absolutely reccomend anyone who has the place for it to try it out. About as easy as a DIY project gets and the rewards are worth every bit of effort.

Kick ****! I'm glad you like it!
I have a line array as well, with four Adire Shivas (same driver as your DVCs, only they're 12s) in a 1500 ft3 room. I've measured almost 110db at 10hz at my seating position which is absolutely insane! I have an XLS402 myself but am only using a Parts Express 240w plate amp, as it has more than enough power to bottom out the drivers at the right frequency. I also have a BFD but am using my Behringer DCX2496 to handle the crossover and EQ duties.
The only problem I have is my theater is in a townhouse we rent (saving for a house) in the basement so sometimes the duct work can get annoying. I was thinking of applying some sort of dampening to it but I'm not sure it will be worth the investment due to us renting.
Again, glad you built it and welcome to the club! -
Thanks man. That's the other thing I have to do is freq sweeps. Man, maybe this is too much work. Yea I think I'll just have to tear it out.:p
1400 ft^3 room with 4 15s is definately enough. But of course I always wonder what if... What do you think of the Adires? Probably better SQ than my DVCs but the deal on the DVCs at the time was too good to pass up, and as you know there is a lack of good IB drivers out there right now. So long story short I jumped in instead of waiting. Can't say I'm dissapointed though. Damn what ifs. There are two ways to argue with women. Both of them are wrong. -
