Damn Ebay amateurs

Why in the hell do people end an auction early after there are bids on an item? I know it's because they are working a deal behind the scenes. Stupid 'em 'effers. I was going to bid but the auction was ended early. It's not right especially after bids have been placed. A rarer piece came up for auction and now it's ended. Pisses me off when behind the scenes deals go on. Don't put the damn thing on ebay if your not going to follow the rules.

I've seen that happen. I actually was the recipient of a behind the scenes deal. I don't think it happens all that often.

Damn you!! That's not right. When I list stuff for sale I honor the agreement I expect the same if I'm a bidder.

Nothing against you personally. I would never send an e-mail offering to buy the item outright after bids have been placed. That's not how it's supposed to work. I know, life isn't fair, yada, yada, yada. :(

It was kind of a unique situation. The seller had sent me the wrong package. It was actually supposed to go to someone else who won one of his auctions. The seller send each of us the wrong package. We worked it out and sent each other the correct packages. The seller was very sorry and as a result offered to sell me an amp for about 1/2 of what he expected to get for it. I said okay and he sold me the amp. He had a disclaimer in his auction description reserving the right to end the auction as he stated the amp was also advertised in his local paper.

I agree with you H9 about the rules. I have never tried to undermine the auction process. I don't think it's fair.

BTW, no offense taken I understand your point.

Yep, your situation is certainly out of the ordinary and not what I'm refering to. Glad you got things worked out, sounds like one big mess that finally got done right.

Sellers feedback should reflect pulled auctions or at least allow the high bidder to leave bad feedback on the pull if the reserve had been met..

I do it all the time, since its the Amatures who bid on e-bay that drive up butt stupid prices on some items.

Lately I been seeing alot of butt ugly sellers, writing out all kind of dumb **** demands, threatening language and so on, really, I think, I dont know you and you want me to send you dough based on your statements in which you show yourself to be an A#1 ****, I rarely buy audio gear on ebay, I use it on occasion for some of my music instruments and effects and so on and you never know when your bidding with the kiddies.

I don't use ebay much either and it takes a well written ad and some long term feedback to get me to bite on an item. This particular item is one I've been searching for and they don't come up too often. I've seen 3 in the last 18 months and two of those were not in great condition and the other my brother bought. It's not a high dollar item or particularly special. Just something I'd like to own and add to my collection. I don't even need the damn thing :p

All I'm saying is follow the rules. They have a new listing option which is to bid as usual or accept the best offer; use that option if you are going to accept the highest offer. At least then I could have put my offer down to see if he'd accept. Who knows, I like to get a bargain or at least pay a fair price so I probably would have been out bid in the end, but I never even got to enter the fray.

when I was selling an Onkyo Amp, I had someone contact me to end the auction early. offerred quite a bit more than the auction wound up ending for. I refused to end it because I had bids.
But for the life of me, I cant figure out why this guy didnt just bid, he would have won if he did....easily ?!?!?

He probably found another amp which someone sold him on the spot, lots of folks just dont want to wait or be bothered with the snipe bidding.

Other than my cd palyer, the only things that I've got off EBay are tubes. I've only got screwed once when the dude was advertising the tubes as Bugle Boys and the pic was of BBs, but I got regular Amperex. I'm not too upset, though, because they sound great and are in very good cosmetic shape.

Just something about the whole process bothers me.

I hate the early bidders. I was going to bid on this 95 mercedes e300 diesel with 202k miles on it. With an hour left, the bid was $5000. Someone started bidding with about 30 minutes left and it sold for $6851. KBB for houston is $5115. For 90210 it's $5840. What idiots or maybe i'm the idiot and they're the geniuses :D
