I've seen this before, but it still totally rules!

Whao. That is absolutely amazing. I think it may be the most amazing thing I've ever seen before. I had no idea engines could be that big! I've seen train engines before and thought those were big. Wow.
It is amazing that it can produce that much power and torque, but given the displacement, you'd have to assume ridiculous ammounts of performance. And the fact that it's more efficient than the typical automotive...while being a two stroke...that's just mind-blowing.
Great link! I'm definitely bookmarking it!George Grand wrote: »

Now if they would only add a lawnmower blade to that thing....CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

That's a one big motor! I wonder why they would use something like that instead of a gas turbine which is much more efficient and has about 80% less parts. Much more releability and oh yes, much more power from a much smaller unit? Plus diesel fuel is garbage, Give me a natural gas fired turbine anyday.Carl

How do they start this thing ? Air pressure, or ?
And I noticed at the bottom left of the 3d picture: big old electric motor, I'm thinking it's hooked into a jacking gear.
Once this behemoth stops, it probably is necessry to keep it turning for an hour to let the crank cool down evenly so that the crank doesn't warp.
Attach lawn mower blades to the bottom of this thing, and I think I'd finally be able to cut the grass in the back.Sal Palooza -
Whats the point? Does it help blend margaritas? I don't get it.
