I compared the Mirage OMNI S12 sub to the SVS PB-12PLUS and there was no comparison. The SVS won hands down. The SVS costs a little more but the one thing that really impressed me about the SVS was the realism. The bass sounded real through the SVS and manufactured through the Mirage. Just my personal observation and opinion. Good luck.

I've never heard the SVS PB-12Plus, but I just bought a Mirage and love it. I upgraded from a Polk PSW10. I was planning on purchasing the SVS PB-10, but they ran out. I had a financial ceiling to spend less than $400. I watched Underworld Evolution the other day and my walls and hardwood floor was shaking. This is a powerful sub that goes very low. It sounds great with music as well.

If you want the best sounding sub and money isn't a big concern then I'd take Janmike's advice and go with the SVS. If you want the best sounding sub for under $400 then Mirage is the ticket. They have recently discontinued the S12 in order to make room for newer model.
