Does this really work?

I have two 10 inch subs in a box that is separated by a wall in the back of my jeep… I was told that I should cut out a 1 ½ inch hole on the corners of the box to let air flow… and to stuff that **** with some cotton. Would this be worth the effort and would it make that much of a difference in sound? Or how would it sound? Does anyone know or has anyone done this to there subs?

I would think sound quality would go to hell, but you might get a few more db with it being "ghetto ported"

Sealed enclosures sound better anyway. You have 2 drivers, so a few extra db's shouldn't really matter that much. As long as the air space meets the driver's requirements, I would just make sure you are giving them all the power they can handle.
