Yet another Cherokee Install...

I have a 3000 Cherokee Classic. I have upgraded the factory head unit to an Alpine CDA9856. A 10" J-L Audio subwoofer has been installed in the rear cubby hole in a custom fiferglass enclosure. A 220 watt Alpine amp for the sub has been installed under the rear seat. The speakers in the soundbar have been upgraded to the MMC525's. The clarity and depth are great. I bought another set for the front doors, but they are too small. Will MMC650's fit in the doors? Thanks in advance.

    That's a 2000 Cherokee?

I would bet the tweeters on the mmc650s stick out too far to mount in the front door factory locations without cutting out the plastic grill from the door panel. The mmc6500s would probably do if you mounted the seperate tweeter from the component set on the sail panels or in the A pillers. 6 1/2 inch speakers should drop right into the front doors (if you remove the factory spash guard and drill new mounting holes).

Now you are just going around and looking for problems.... why? If you do not like it here why hang around. I am frankly getting tired of your insults that are geared towards everyone here. I am part of this forum and responded to your other thread. Not once did I insult you, but you insulted all of us, that includes me.

    Hey Gene,
I dont know if you did anything yet but are those tweeters bigger than the db model? I have a 98 cherokee sport and installed 6.5's in the rear sound bar and 6.5 components in the front door also. The tweeters would never have fit in the stock window bar?? I cut off the original speaker grill off the body molding and then bonded the tweeter holder to the original molding...If you are careful it all fits fine, and looks great:D Sounds really good too, since they are being ran off an amp. From the little I read, it looks like those MM or whatever are even better. Hope that helps,

    Brandon

Bran - Could you post some pics of the way you have the grills done for your front speakers? I'd be interested in seeing that...
