Joey V,
I have a question about hooking up a PC to a basic two channel system. I will be purchasing a new PC over the next couple of weeks, and went to get good quality stereo out of it, surround does not interest me. I was planning on using a pair of LSi7s, and if I remember correctly you had two pairs of 7s hooked up to your computer in the past. Just wondering how you are doing it and if you had any tips. I wasn’t sure if it would be better to get a sound card with good stereo out and hook it up to a decent integrated, or to use the digital out to an ok DAC, to a decent integrated. I could also use the stereo out to a passive pre-amp to a decent amp. I also wasn’t sure how to hook it up, I have only seen one sound card with RCAs out, most use minijacks, would I use the FL and FR minijack, or Line Out? This system would be used sparingly for decent quality downloaded MP3s, lots of game trailers and movie trailers, some TV shows, and a few games like WarCraft III. I was planning on spending around $400, $500 if I have to, on the integrated and maybe DAC. I can research which Integrated and DAC would be best, just wondering what the best way to set it up would be.

I replaced my RB-1070 with a RB-1092. My B&W N804 needed more power. The RB-1070 never even got warm to the touch, even though I had my RC-1070 pre on top of it. A great amp for 130w/ch.[

Miner,
Competely forgot that I had that first question in there, I did end up getting the 1070. So far I love it, sounds great and never gets hot, heck it barely even gets warm...and thats only on one side. With 2-channel I prefer the A23that I had, but using it to power surrounds I really can't tell a difference. Great little amp, I am so happy that I got it.

OMG.. I missed this thread!
Glad you like the 1070. Have yet to hear the A23 though.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R -

Jared,
What I did was I had a Sounblaster Audigy 2zs (now, I have the XFi) hooked up to an HK330 receiver via TWO methods:
1. Digital Out - I used this so I could utilize the receiver's decoder to decode DTS and Dolby when I watched movies on my PC.
2. 6 channel Analog Out - I used this so I could utilize the soundcard's decoder to decode EAX (for games).
Good luck!Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R
