I have the system listed below in my den. The LSi25s are bi-wired. What is the best way to calibrate the sound? Should I get a sound meter or just use the automatic adjustments with the Pioneer receiver? I have seen a few posts on this subject but I am still unclear on what to do????????
TV - Pioneer Elite 1130HD
DVD - Pioneer Elite DV-79AVi
Receiver/Preamp: - Pioneer Elite VSX-72TXV

I have the pioneer 1015 and while it does a fairly good job with its auto calibrate, it doesn't calibrate the sub level at all. Also, when I use a spl meter, i find that sometimes the surrounds aren't all set to 75db, they are usually 2 or 3 db less. I don't know if its a problem with the reciever or with the calibration mic. I would suggest to pick up a copy of Avia or Digital Video Essentials and a spl meter and do the calibrations manually at your seating position. That way you can really get the sound that your prefer. There are a lot of other tests you can do with these tools, like making sure everything is in phase and what your frequency response looks like.

Again, these tools will also help you set and calibrate your sub properly.
