Wasn't Rush's hearing loss a side effect of the Oxycontin addiction and abuse?

Yeah, he got so effed up that he started shoving them into his ear canals.:D

Sorry Mac but i'm not buying your brand. Rush cut a deal with the state, and you can scream not-guilty until your lungs bleed. But if you cut a deal, you do so knowing it'll reflect negatively on you for the rest of your life. You accept it. He's got 18 months under this deal to prove himself. If he does so and seeks therapy, the felony charge of Prescription Drug Fraud/Dr. Shopping will be dropped. IF. Now I don't know about you, but that's not a sacrifice i'm willing to make if i'm truly innocent. There is no IF and there is no deal cutting scenario in my playbook. "Because I wanted to get it over with." ?? Give me a break. If he told you he could military press 2,000lbs with his **** would you take that on blind faith as well? Of course you wouldn't. But I know you like the guy and you listen to his radio show. You're a loyal fan, that's great. Do what you like.

There's a **** load of investigators, doctors and experts who by judicial precedent- believe that the guy broke the law. The VAST majority of those saying he's innocent are either paid to say that, or are his devout followers: aka you. But I'm venturing that the vast majority of those experts and investigators know more about this case than either you or me put together because unlike us, they don't have the luxury of our subjective judging or political biases. Bottom line, and this is neither subjective nor political, Rush is famous and well-off with solid connections and that's why he got the rich guy treatment. Or what I like to call... the "IF" parole. Now... re-enter subjectivity and political bias: my judgement of him still stands. He's an ****, and more importantly he's a hypocrite. JUST LIKE MICHAEL MOORE.

    ;)

Dude, he went into therapy voluntarily and has been continuing with the same doctor for 3 years. He's also been subject to random drug tests thru the entire 3 years. There is nothing in this plea deal that will have him doing anything differently than he was already voluntarily doing.

The 18 months are NOT probation and he's not reporting to anybody, its simply the amount of time left in his treatment program. He is simply to continue with his treatment and not break any laws. Whats so hard about that.

After all the hubbub, after the DA saying he had 10 counts of felony doctor shopping, after the rumors of Rush being involved in a drug ring and that Rush was involved in money laundering. After all that the DA takes a deal that basically says nothing.

Now tell me, if you had a DA hounding you for 3 years and stories coming out everywhere that you were a drug dealer and a junkie and ABC World News Tonight running a story that you may be involved in money laundering and had already spent millions of dollars and resources defending yourself, if after all that the DA offers you a deal that lets you plead not guilty, pay a small fine and as long as you stay out of trouble for a year the case will be dismissed. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.

So after surgery, it's ok to sneak around and find prescribed medication (with or without a prescription), but the local 17yo in a club doing the same thing is doing something illegal whereas Rush is not? I'd love to see a club kid win that arguement in court.

Yeah,Rush can get alittle wacky some times, but his intentions are
good.At least he works toward bettering this country rather than
the left, who wants to tear it down. Can't say I agree with him on
every issue, but the whole purpose is to gain knowledge you won't
get in the main stream press, and make your own decision.Bottom
line is to seek the truth thru other ways cause politicians and the
press are surely not about truth.

I just read the following article on News of the Weird (http://www.newsoftheweird.com/archive/index.html re: Rush Limbaugh.

"Wheelchair-confined Richard Paey committed almost exactly the same violations of Florida prescription drug laws that radio personality Rush Limbaugh did, with a different result: Limbaugh's sentence, in May, was addiction treatment, and Paey's, in 2004, was 25 years in prison. Both illegally possessed large quantities of painkillers for personal use, which Paey defiantly argued was (and will be) necessary to relieve nearly constant pain from unsuccessful spinal surgeries after an auto accident, but which Limbaugh admitted was simply the result of addiction. (In fact, if Limbaugh complies with his plea bargain, his conviction will be erased.) Paey's sentence now rests with a state Court of Appeal. Oh please, are you even trying to be honest?

That guy was accused of selling the pills, and he was forging perscriptions. I know you probably didn't look past the sob story, but it's worlds apart. Hanging Rush Limbaugh is the goal of the left because he commands the #1 radio program in the country that people listen to willingly. There's a reason for that, lots of people agree with him.

Comparing Rush Limbaugh and Michael Moore is a complete joke. Moore lies by presenting his opinion as fact. Limbaugh gives you his opinion and tells you that. If people didn't like his opinion he wouldn't be on the air -- it's that simple.

In any event, why aren't we talking about Michael Moore? Isn't he the subject of this thread? Or maybe nobody could find a way to defend him so they turned the attention to something else?

I don't have any bias either way. I stumbled upon that this morning and just thought I'd pass it along. I could really care less about Rush Limbaugh.

I typically stay out of all political topics, but do agree that Michael Moore is an **** and I hope that he's taken for all he's worth by this veteran. I refused to see F. 9/11 and have no intentions of supporting any of his movies.

On the original topic, then, I think this lawsuit is a complete joke. And the same thing goes for any jackass who talks to Rush Limbaugh and gets his words twisted around. I'm sorry, but if you talk to someone on film and sign the waiver, then you don't get to complain what they do with it. $75 million? and $10 million for the wife? give me a f---ing break and take some responsibility for your actions. File it under tort reform.

Furthermore, the fact that it was Michael Moore makes me even LESS sympathetic. Seriously, what the hell did he think was going to happen?

The only case he's got is maybe improper consent. Meaning that he was high as a kite when he signed the waiver. Best thing that he can hope for in that case is that the footage of him is removed in all future prints.

Well thats because he didnt do that! After 3 freaking years, countles warrants and searches the Florida DA found nothing!

If you go into a major surgery where they drill a hole in the side of your head and you come out having to chew Oxycontin's like Tic Tacs to manage the pain and you become addicted, yeah I wouldnt put you in the same class as some 17 year old doing meth at some club. And who knows, drilling a hole in the side of your head might actually improve your looks! :p:D

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!!!! Made me laugh out loud on that one bro!

The story appeared in the NATIONAL ENQUIRER which was bought and paid for by his ex maid and there was no evidence for it! He couldve easily said, "Nope, wasnt me" but he didnt. Even before the DA was making noises about prosecuting. As soon as the story came out in the Enquirer, he went on air and said "Yup, its true" and then checked himself into rehab.

Well, being addicted to pain killers is not illegal.

Second, he wasnt caught. He couldve easily denied the story in the Enquirer cause we all know what a reputable rag that is.

He never denied being addicted to Oxycontin but he did deny ever doctor shopping or doing anything illegal and after 3 long years, the Florida DA couldnt find anything.
