Greetings from a newbie...
I would like to say hello and introduce myself. This forum has been great fun to read. I am on the crusp of becoming a Polk monitor 7 owner (my first Polk by the way) and I have some questions.
These are the pics sent to me. I need to know if the tweeters are in fact Polks. Also the speaker terminal board on the right speaker is missing the fuse and looks different.
Thanks
John

those are early model Polk Audio Monitor 7's. from the pics they look to have been modified for sure.
The speaker terminals may not be original. It looks like the left tweeter might be a Polk tweeter, but not the same Peerless as the right one. THe left surround also looks like it may be in poor shape.. hard to tell though.
The fuse was to protect the tweeter in each speaker... maybe they kept blowing them and decided to do away with the fuse all together.. not sure if you'd have problems in the future not having a fuse for the tweeter. Maybe, maybe not.
Unless, you buy them at an extremely low price.. i'd probably pass on them for a pair in better condition.. with out all the mods. They come up on Ebay all the time.. so do the larger Monitor 10's and smaller Monitor 5's.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Thanks for the insight. What should I expect to pay for 100% original monitor 7's in great shape?

monitor 7's were...
1. original monitor 7's.. used an 8" passive radiator
2. monitor 7A's 8" or 10", i don't remember for sure
3. monitor 7B's 10" passive radiator
4. monitor 7C's last ones made. 10" passive radiator
(If any of the above info is wrong.. please let me know)
a pair of monitor 7's in good original condition.. i'd say go for about $100 - $150 give or take a few bucks. You may find them for less or course.. and sometimes people try and sell them for as much as $280 (local sale here).
problem you may run into is shipping costs. Shipping can some times be over priced. so work with the seller and work out a deal for shipping. Local pick up is preferred of course.. that way is save you $ and the chance that they could be damaged in shipping.
good luck.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
