faster, I should have a pair of RT25i's and a pair of RT25's available this weekend if you are interested. Let me know. Gonna do a comparison with the RT35i's and if the 35i's catch my fancy, the 25's will be available.

Nope - old style. On the good side, you can remove the ebony sides and have a slimmer profile in all gloss black. (click on the LSi-7 link in my sig to see what they would look like)

    Michael

BTW - no, the sides have never been removed from these speakers. They were used as my front speakers prior to me purchasing my LSi15's.

Thanks guys but i have a 3-4 watt tube amp and need a very small speaker, ala sattalite, rm series or indoor/outdoor type small driver speaker say 4" or smaller... I have Rt25i's already and although they are my favorite bookshelf.. I want something that can run good on 1-3 watts..

aNd its just alittle project rig i want to do and want it kinda cheap.. say 50 bucks or under would be better .. and they don't have to be polks... some klipsch quintets (sp) LOL or some such.

You might want to think of a pair of klipsch's RB series. Relatively small and great sensitivity thanks to the horns.
Lovin that music year after year.

I thought about DIY but the drivers that are decent are expensive.. I don't want a bookshelf at this point.. Its not only a effecient issue but a size as well.. That's why i want a cube (not bose LOL ) type speaker.. Thanks for all the offers though

How about a pair of Cambridge Soundwords Surround/ Center IV? Similar in concept to the Bose single cubes, but I thought they sounded much better and were much less $. They are about 3 or 4 inches cubed. They have a nice keyhole slot in the back for mounting, and a threaded hole too. I got several pair off ebay awhile back when I had aspirations of 7.1. I will sell you a pair for $20. Let me know if you are interested.

They were a lot better than I expected. I couldn't do a side by side comparison with the Bose, but liked them better. When I tried out the AM3 setup at the Bose store I remember the distinct absense of midrange. The highs were ok and the bass was good for a small box, but the sound wasn't balanced. The cambridge to me sound better in the mid and the bass with the subwoofer seems to go lower (just to clarify the subwoofer is not inclued with the cubes I am selling). I currently have a pair hooked up the bedroom with the matching cambridge sub and it sounds pretty good. They don't image great but I like the tonal balance. Plus my wife can't even find where I put the left channel ;) . I also have 4 as fronts and surrounds in a LAME home theater setup in the family room. I have it hooked to another brand passive sub. I am not so much impressed with the speakers here, but it may be the setup of the cheap Pioneer receiver. I also had a pair setup in my workshop without a sub. The sound was ok, but every time I would play them I wished for another sub. I bought a pair of RT15i's that were going to be the mains for the HT upgrade, but I put them in the workshop for testing and can't seem to get them back upstairs :D . I just scored some RT35's and I am afraid to try them out down in the shop or they may disappear too  !

Hope this rambling helps. I can shoot off some pictures if you like along with details on where the various speakers came from. I have 4 white and 4 black. I got 3 from HIFI.com as refurbs and I am keeping those. I will give you the choice of two of the others that were purchased off ebay. I only have 1 cambridge sub and I am also going to keep it. I would be willing to let you try before you buy but we would have to work out the details.
