I just bought the Euro version of the Monitor 30. Great speaker. I bought two speakers stands that our 16 inches each. They look funny up against my big screen. Here is my question my system sounds great. If i go with 24 or 31 inch stands are the rear speakers still going to match up with the fronts as well. Right now the rear speakers are at 15 inches and the fronts are at 16 inches. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Actually, your rear speakers should be 5 or 6 feet high, if possible. If not, use tall stands for them. For the fronts, the stands should be low or high, depending upon whether they place the tweeter at ear level.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

the rear speakers should be at least 2-3 feet higher than your ear level.

That is something I did not know. I guess I assumed that both the front and rear speakers should all be at ear level.Michael

The rear speakers provide diffused, ambient sounds. If they are at ear level, you are less likely to experience the full effect of this diffused sound. Imagine the sound of a jet or an explosion being heard directly at ear level or coming at you indirectly (i.e., from 3 ft. higher than ear level). The sound would be different, right? Now, of course, with the center channel and front speakers you want them to be at ear level because they provide the dialogue and other critical sounds that should be heard directly.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Ok here is my deal. My rears are at 16 inches sitting on two end tables, on both sides on a couch. What height would you have the fronts. They are sitting at about 16 right now. I am going to built my own stands cause the other ones are not cutting it. I bought them at circuit city built them,
thought they were at the right height. I threw away the box, so I cant return them. Any help would be great.Everything I own burned in the fire!!!!!!!!!!
