fellas

I just joined this site called..

allofmp3.com

They have a decent selection and cost about 10-20 cents per song (depending how big the file). This was the only place I could find almost cd quality music that was cheap. I used to use kazaa and Imesh but it was hard to find songs and some where terrible quality.

So I was just wondering what you guys use (if you do) to get your mp3s.

I've been doing allofmp3.com for a long time now. No problems with transactions (billing is out of the Netherlands and the music is stored in Russia). I like being able to choose any format, I usually get 320 mp3's.

10-20 cents? Jeez, how is it so cheap? what are the drawbacks?

That does sound pretty cheap when you compare them to any other music site. Don't most sites offer songs at around a dollar each?

I still don't know if I'd want to pay for downloaded music, though. I think if I'm going to download music I'll try it (from a torrent site) and if I like it I'll go for the cd.

Downloading silence when all the artists find it's not worthwhile to make music anymore. They get like .09 cents a song from iTunes. If 100,000 people DL it that's $9,000.

I used to use Morpheus.com for awhile.
Far as I know it's still free, but ad-based?
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

I've been using this Russian website for about a year and a half now. Download speeds are good, and they take paypal. I haven't had any problems at all, .10 cents per song, and a 10% disount if you purchase the whole album..

    http://www.mymusicinc.com/download2_sav.htm?affID=0002592

I 'll make a choice between the two tonight. Mymusic hopefully will last. Unlimited downloads. Non theatered? So i keep them for life, and I can burn them as many times as I want?

How is my music inc's song selection and new releases? Does anyone with a membership know if they have "The Wreckers" new album or "Over the hedge" soundtrack and andrea bocelli. A good range of music with some recent releases to see how up to date they are. Much appreciated

It is! I more than got my money's worth & the quality is great. I never would have considered it, if I had been able to get the songs I like off of an "approved" site. But since I couldn't I went elsewhere.

Check them out. They are located in Canada.

Getting songs off musicinc is exactly the same as using any p2p program, isn't it? I logged into their system using something random like user: test email: test@hotmail.com and got in. All it does is give you expensive instructions on how to use p2p programs like kazaa. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I can already do that for free?

Yep, it's still stealing and they're getting your money. Ridiculous.

While I understand what you are saying, to me it was/is worth since I've have already gotten all of the music that I wanted for significantly less. If I had had to pay .99 cents for each song that I've downloaded so far it would have cost me $177.00.

And since it's a one time charge, I'm not really concerned about it.

If Apple, Buy.com MSNmusic.com had all the songs that are available on their sites, I would have been happy to use them. They don't & are not interested in adding them.

As far as I'm concerned I already paid yrs ago for another format, I transferred that format to tape, now I've transferred them to cd's.

I'm not selling them, I'm not giving copies away to other people. They are for my personal enjoyment.

If the artists want to give me their personal addresses I will send them each a dollar for the song.

LOL! That's like closing the barn door after the horse has gotten out Thuggy!

I've already paid them & I've already got what I wanted. If you had given me this link 2-3 weeks ago I would have been all set!

Like I said, it's a one time charge so I don't really have a problem with it.

Stealing is stealing chief. You can try to justify it any way you want, but if the people responsible for the music aren't getting paid what they WANT to be paid, then it's stealing. That's all there is to it. Whether it's stealing from teh rich or the poor, it's against the law. This isn't Sherwood Forest, Robin Hood. If I offered up all teh MP3s on my computer (ripped from my CDs, mostly) for sale for a penny, I doubt you'd be outraged if I was prosecuted. So someone does it on a larger scale and you think it's ok?

And of course there's "bigger issues in the world", but does that mean me knocking over my local liquor store should be ignored because there's murder in the world? Of course not. You do something wrong, you get punished.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
