This is a long shot but I need to at least give it a try.

I located an amplifier I want at a garage sale in San Diego and was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to go pick it up for me. I found this on craiglist and it is for pickup only.

Speakers:Polk SDA SRS, 3.1TL, FXi5, FXi3, 2-SVS 20-29, Yamaha, SVS center sub. Power:2-Monster HTS3500, Furman M-8D & RR16 Plus. 2-SAE 4000 X-overs, SAE 5000a noise reduction, MSB Link DAC III, MSB Powerbase, Behringer 2496, Monarchy DIP 24/96.

Folks I cannot even begin to tell you how thrilled I am!!! I scored a very nice amplifier but more importantly, a total stranger came through for me from another country and 2,000 miles away!

With all the crap going on in the world and even some people getting ripped off on this very forum, Scott proved that there are still honest people around that will go the extra mile for a total stranger.

I'm sure he had better things to do with his time than drive 4 hours to pick up an amplifier that may not even have been there because it was a garage sale.

Scott, if I'm ever in California I'm gonna look you up and take you out for a nice steak dinner, thanks again.

I am so happy to have "discovered" Polk speakers and this forum.

This is a feel good story if I ever heard one.

And people say the world hates Americans, I think we just changed one persons view of America. :D

J/K of coarse, everyone loves Americans. :D

Hi Skynut, I must say that as a Canadian I've probably visited more states than most Americans and I KNOW I've seen more of the U.S. than I've seen of Canada. This is thanks to my involvement in powered parachutes. Check my website www.paraski.com

Why on earth did he have to drive 4 hrs if he's in Oceanside and it was an S.D. garage sale? He must have taken the scenic route :D

So are you ever going to tell us what this mysterious piece is?

This is the reason I stay with this forum. It's cheesy to say it but it's like an awesome little community. Very cool. fing32.gif

I didn't even realize that the amp wasn't in this thread. It was a Bose 1801 Power Amplifier (70's Vintage), B4 you hate on the name brand. Trust me when I say, this amp is a beast. It betters 80 pounds in weight, and the heatsink is enormous.

4 Hours - The short of the story, traffic on the way to pick up the amp, traffic on the way to the UPS Store, traffic on the way to UPS Service Center cause store didn't honor UPS Accounts, traffic back to UPS Store because I didn't make it in time to the Service Center, why you ask, Traffic.

But if Joe is happy, then I am happy to assist..
