maybe I should say update instead of upgrade, but My HK 635 and Toshiba HD-A1 are can both recieve upgrades by internet but its alot of trouble to try and unhook every thing and move it all into the computer room and try to down load the upgrade? I 've thought about buying chaep computer and using it just for upgrading gear but its hard to turn loose of $400 or $ 500 for a rig that you might use once or twice a month. do any of you take time to do this and do feel like its worth it?

Well...yeah. The firmware helped with a bass management bug but nothing night and day.

I update the firmware for my Anthem AVM-20 via the WWW. I use a 50ft long RS-232 cable to connect my pc to the preamp and there's no need to move anything around. BadaBoom-BadaBing

That cable should be cheap, and its also the solution I thought of for your location problem. Its not sexy, but it works.
