Heard a pair of M20 today...
Decent speakers, OK build quality...
Not sure Ill say they are a price/performance speaker - you are paying alot just to say you have a floorstander.
Good for a starter HT, but like I said, not sure Id paid the asking price - new.
The sound was smooth and fairly detailed, but very focused toward the center. Vocals were fairly good as well.
PS: The floor spikes suck.

I think the r30 (which i believe is the predecessor of the m20) has better overall sound quality, don't you think?
It seems like polk is trying to make the m series look exactly like the monitor series...AVR: H/K AVR240

I can honestly say that everytime I heard the R series - I became more dissapointed in Polk products. I did not like that line up at all.
Granted, the M20 isnt that much better, if any at all. But I found it listenable at the least...
Its the type of speaker that, for me - I would buy and then start to plan for the next purchase...

I just replaced a Bose lifestyle 800 5.1 system with a simple Onkyo TX8011, Onkyo CD changer, and a pair of M20's all from CC all under 600 bucks. I hated the Bose better sound through marketing system. Since adopting our son two years ago we have been doing less and less of the HT thing (wakes him up at night) and more and more straight music. This simple system blows the Bose away in clarity depth and imaging. I wish I had doen this years ago. I am sad that I have been missing so much in my music for the past 10 years (system before 800 was Pioneer reciver with 201's and small bose for surround and radio shack sub).Onkyo TX-8011

Every manufacturer has different price points that fit within certain people's requirements. The R series isn't meant to compete with the LSI or RTI lines, so (maybe one day you'll get this) quit judging a company because of a segment of their product line that you don't have a particular use for.comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -

Polk's entry level stuff is very good compared to its competition and it serves its intended market very well..Receiver: harmankardon AVR235
