Marantz SR4600

I had my heart pretty much set on the HK AVR240 for my reciever upgrade....whenever that will end up being. But recently I started looking around again and came across the Marantz line of recievers, more specifically the SR4600. This is on the lower end of their AVR line, but is most likely leaps and bounds ahead of my <$200 Kenwood.
What I was really wanting to know, is anyone has actually heard it or a model similar and if it would sound alright with the Rti line. I couldn't manage to find a review using the google skillz, nor do I have a local Marantz dealer I can go to (Only actual HiFi shop deals with NAD, Paradigm ML, Denon and .....*gasp* Monster). This isn't really all that big of a deal, mostly because I cannot decided if I want to go with a source upgrade first, or grab the x-sub when it's back in stock. That and financial aid is slowly dwindling away, so disposable income is pretty non-existant for now.
If anyone has any thoughts, they are welcome. If not, oh well, I thought some discussion would be nice.

Hi,
At one time I owned a Marantz RS-48 (2CH Receiver) and used it with a pair of RTi100's then RTi38's. I really thought they blended well together. Marantz is a nice warm sound and I still use a Marantz CDP (SE67).
I still have some RTi's hanging around. Good luck.Michael
In the beginning, all knowledge was new!

I had a marantz sr7200 and the whole rti theater. i70s, i40, i30s and even a cs245i as a rear center. I loved that receiver. It was great for watching movies and had plenty of bells and whistles. The only thing that pissed me off sometimes was the OSD. I didn't like needing to use my TV to change some of the settings but oh well.
It wasn't that great for music. I found the bass and treble control circuit to be pretty noisy so I used the source direct button alot. That helped.
I bought mine refurbished. I had a problem with it and Marantz fixed it for free. Other then that one issue, it was great. I sold it a while ago for $350.
