I got my latest Strereophile and stumbled into two different brands of (I thought brand new), and it looks like white van lookalike. One brand is Theater Research (complete with misspelled web address too  )

Can anyone confirm? I am just curious whether Stereophile is dying for advertisement dollars, or these speakers are actually been around for a while.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

    Garbage.

I have to give them credit as floor space at CES is very expensive, but then again...every Tom, Dick and Yao Ming had floorspace.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

there is a thread in stereophile's forum. John Atkinson address this, that there is a wall between advertisement and editorial dept. So the editors and content guys dont' see the full print till it actually goes to print. John atkinson said he is talking to marketing dept. because he doesn't want that stuff in the magazine.

That's what I thought. ST, JA from Stereophile may have to review these speakers one day and I would love to read what they have to say. They might have to use superlative words, but not the same superlatives that were used to describe a Stradivari.

At least, Stereophile now can say that they cater to parking lot crowds. I can hear it now: "Regular price is $2999 for all five speakers, BUT if you buy it TODAY, your price is $500!"

    :)

    WTF?? .
"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul!

That's the beginning of the end. Selling out to the marketers. I got the June issue and saw that crap.
