Six Inches

Moved my speakers over about 6 inches yesterday and they sound even better than before -- mainly an improved soundstage (i.e., less compressed). It sounds like the speakers opened up and were allowed to breathe more. I was reluctant to do it because they are not symmetrical with the audio rack and I thought I'd run into WAF issues (with her, everything has to be nice and straight).

The sound improved so much that my wife asked me, "What did you do to make it sound better?" He he. Gotta love those kind of comments.

Well, let's just say that I wish I had 6 more inches -- then I could really make the WAF scream...

Yep, your math is off. Six plus two equals eight. :(

Unfortunately for me, speaker placement options are a major constraint for my system. Due to the room configuration and furniture, my speakers can't be moved forward from the wall (only about 1.5 ft. from the back wall), and they can only be moved laterally within about 1 foot. I sit on the back wall about 10 ft. away from the speakers.

I'm waiting on the day when I can renovate my basement and create a room dedicated for music.
