Hooking up my Amp

Okay, I have the Pioneer Elite VSX52TX receiver for the time being. I recently purchased a B & K AV-5125 Amp from Mark and I plan on hooking it up tonight. This is the first amp I have ever owned, and I want to do this right. Am I right in the assumption that I use 5 RCA Cables (L-Main, R-Main, L-Surround, R-Surround, and Center) hooked up to the pre-outs of my receiver to the Input section of my Amp? It doesn't seem as if this is the only option, so I was curious as to what those were.

As far as RCA cables, what do you reccomend, on the cheap, just to get me up and running? Something I could pick up from a Radio Shack or something. I don't want to blow the bank on cables until I am ready to get some really high quality cables once I have done some research.

Attached are the rear photos of each unit.

I apologize for my noobiness here, but you gotta start somewhere.

Or the Fusion's (now called Gold series are about $15 a pair.

Thanks, William. Those would be a good solution for now. I have one on the way home from my office and it says they're in stock so I will swing by in a few mins. :)

Demi, let me know if you are ready to get a decent RCAs. I have the following:

    Monster Cable M550i (3 pairs)
Signal Cable Analog 2 (4 pairs)

To get you up and running, why can't you use the one that come in the box from factory? those should get you going. I've got tons of those if you want.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Thanks for the offer, I am all set-up with the cheapies for now. I will probably move up to the signal cables once I get my LSi15s, which should be in 3-4 months or so. I've spent too much cash in the last few already. :p Let me know if those are still available by then because I will definitely buy them.

Dave those RS Fusions will serve you well until you're ready to upgrade to something better.

They're good enough for me in any case.

Yeah, I haven't heard my system sound this good in, well...ever. It's amazing how far it's come since I started with some dinky little sat speakers.

This amp is simply awesome. Been watching the Superbit version of Underworld and everything is so much more defined. I can get louder than normal and it still sounds very 'crisp'. I just can't wait for the LSi jump. :D

    This hobby sucks! ;)
