HDCP HDTV question

Hello,
It's my understanding that in order for HDCP to work, every piece of hardware in the chain has to be compliant. So the Sharp 45GX6U has an outboard box with all the connections, however the box connects to the panel with a standard DVI connection. If the HDTV is HDCP compliant, does that mean that both the box and the panel have the HDCP hardware?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Since there is an outboard box that takes care of the the HDCP, I don't think you have to worry about the transfer from box to TV.Tschüss

Actually, the box does 1080i, but the panel is capable of 1080p if you bypass the box and connect directly via DVI. Several people have done it with computers with good results. I'm just wondering if the same bypass would work with like a blue-ray player which requires HDCP. I'm thinking it would, otherwise you could just hook up a computer to the DVI output of the box and pirate movies. But I was wondering if anyone knew more and could tell me if I'm right or wrong.
