It CAN be done. Move over wakeboarding, today I "wake surfed". Its a really cool feeling, I see why people like to surf. Problem is, my friend's boat is really small so we have to load sandbags in the back to make a big enough wake.

A wake will make a "fishtail" behind the boat. You have to drive the boat slowly and try to make the tallest wake possible. You couldn't drive that slow for regular skiing.

I just found those videos on the net to illustrate what I'm talking about. They probably have their ballasts filled up on the right side of the boat to make the wave taller on that side.

Bigger wave then we have seen in jersey this week. How did you get up? Tow in and then ditch the rope?

Yeah, you can throw the rope back in the boat or you can just drop it beside you, then if you get out of the groove you just reach down and pickup the rope again.

You start out with your heels on top of the surfboard, then give the boat a little gas and push your heels down, which will force the board against your feet, tilt sideways a little then tell the driver to hit it and you pop right up.

Looks fun, I'll have to try that sometime.

But, for anyone going to the beach, skimboarding is where it is at!
