Aluminum box speakers.

Has anyone ever listened to speakers in aluminum boxes.
I ask because I was just offered a great deal on a set of AES bookshelf speakers and the center (new). $800 for all 3. Retail is around $1300.00

    I've heard the krell bookshelf speakers... kinda hard to draw comparisons, but they sounded great. Not $10,000 great, especially considering that they use a $205 scan speak revelator and a $55 Vifa ring radiator...

    Guess that doesn't really help you decide on the AES
