I have some more gear to move out....all gear includes shipping.

Adcom GFA-545(Original) Amplifier - 8/10 - *SOLD*
I'm not a huge Adcom fan, but I can't argue with reliable, Solid State amplification. It's 100x2 amplfier with the ability to drive low impedence loads...as in 4ohm. Adcom uses an "Instantaneous Distortion Alert" which equates to the NAD "Soft Clipping" structure, for those of you familiar with NAD gear. It let's you know that you should turn the volume down.

Includes: High quality, reproduction User Manual and original power cord. I forgot this is an original GFA-545 and mistakenly said "original power cord", when in reality it's attached...so why wouldn't it be original.

Adcom GFA-545 User Manual

Onkyo TX-810 Receiver - 9/10 - *SOLD*
This is a pretty cool, semi-vintage RCV for simple use. It's minty fresh with a near perfect chassis and faceplate. Definetly one of the better used, semi-old school Onkyo RCV's I've run across in my travels. NO remote control.

45wpc @ 8ohms
A+B Speaker Outputs
Phono Input
5 Audio Inputs
1 Switched Outlet
20 Tuner Presets
Tone Controls
Headphone Output
Tape Monitor

Includes: N/A.

Pioneer SX-205 Receiver - 7/10 - *SOLD*

A basic, nothing fancy receiver. The unit has a flawless faceplate with the only scratching immediately on top of the faceplate...most likely from moving gear on top of it around. NO remote control.

100wpc @ 8ohms
A+B Speaker Outputs
Phono Input
5 Audio Inputs
1 Switched Outlet
30 Tuner Presets
Tone Controls
Headphone Output
Tape Monitor

Includes: Original user manual.

In response to a recent query....

ALL my gear is cleaned from top to bottom, with all vital connections cleaned and treated with CAIG products. It is tested in-house on a generic rig to ensure functionality, documented and photographed. I keep the description simple and the photos basic, but additional information, and photos, are available upon request.

If there is a problem upon receipt of the gear, I am available 24/7 365 via dorokusai@comcast.net , and I will remedy the situation. If there is a problem shortly after recipt of the gear, as in functional operation, contact me immediately. There is no DOA here.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Soiset - Sorry for the late reply. I'm heading to work to source a box for the Adcom and some other gear. When I get it wrapped up and ready to go, I'll drop you a line. I also received your PM, just hold tight and thanks for your interest.

It's all good. Don't rush it; we are preparing to move to Dallas, and the left channel on my GTP-400 pre-amp is crapping out. If you have any suggestions for investigating that problem, I am all ears.

Skynut - They are Bright Star Audio isolation platforms. The bottom is a lead shot filled platform, the other is an air bladder.

The easiest suggestion would be to use another generic pre-amp, or something w/ pre-outs, to determine if the problem follows the GTP-400.

I would pop the top, or bottom, and depending on the degree of difficulty, get to the underside of the printed circuit board(PCB). The left channel may have a weak solder joint, where the left channel RCA socket meets the PCB, which is an easy fix. It's not uncommon for the "most used" connection to fail due to stress on the connector, over time and use.

    Yamaha AVC-50 Stereo Amplifier(Receiver) - 6/10 - *GONE*

This is another semi-vintage piece of gear that I've been using since the day I brought it back home for a test rig. It's starting to grow on me, as I like the overall flexibility of the unit. The unusually low rating is simply due to an odd spotting on the faceplate and rear, that I have no idea how to remove, without removing all the lettering. It looks MUCH better than it did when I received it and sounds alot worse than it is in person. The cover to the "POWER" button is missing. I hope to have this repaired with a piece of black, ABS plastic before the potential sale. NO remote control.

    Natural Sound Amplifier
    45wpc @ 8 ohms
    Phono Input
10 Audio Inputs, 4 Video Inputs
    Surround Sound Processor

    3 Switched/2 Unswitched Outlets

    Pre-Outputs

    Yamaha AVC-50 User Manual

    Includes: User Manual(Reproduction).

    AIWA AD-WX707 Double Cassette Deck - 8/10 - $25

Let me preface by saying it's no Nakamichi, but it's not a bad deck overall, nor is it a POS. I like the controls and what leads it away a bit from generic decks is the Bias Trim, Soft Touch Controls and 2 Head design. Break out the old cassettes and get your Rock on.

    Auto-Reverse
    2 Head(REC and PLAY)
    Soft Touch Controls
    Analog Counter
    Bias Trim Adjustement
    Dolby B & C Noise Reduction

    Soiset,
It is very common for old gear like your preamp to have this sort of problem. I have seen it many times. Often times it's just a cold solder joint on the RCA connection. Not saying that is the problem but it very well could be. Another common issue is manufacturers leaving flux on the soldered connection rather than cleaning it off. Flux helps the solder flow but is corrosive if left on the connection. Try reflowing the connection and cleaning off the flux. Ethyl alcohol works best to clean the connections as it is 200 proof and leaves no residue. Isopropyl is obviously more common and will work in a pinch.

    Thanks Maxima and Dorokusai,

I would guess that you must mean the rca output to the amp, or the rca input from the source, and which it is would be easily determined, obviously. Does the fact that, in mono, it works fine for both channels jibe with your diagnosis? When in stereo, I just get some faint crackling out of the left channel that sounds vaguely like the music being played. But if I switch it to mono, both speakers sound fine.

    Yes,

It still could be the problem. Mono only requires a signal from one RCA.

OK! My first real stereo rig is complete! The Adcom GFA545 is beautifully driving the woofers in my Energy C-8's. Was beautifully packed, and in better condition than I imagined. Double plus good to Dorokusai.
