Indeed...........but I have McPhever. She's a hottie. I hate pop music like the crap that comes from American Idol, but she's a hottie, I'd like to see her win perhaps it will lead to something bigger than AI.

The sad thing is she's only still there because of her looks. I was just listening to both of them and it was sad. There were several, that were voted off, that were FAR better singers than either one of these two."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

Well, I think given a proper venue with material that suits her she actually has a great voice. The whole AI format stinks, as far as telling them what to sing, etc..... She is no Jewel or Sheryl Crow or Allison Krauss, but she's ten times better than the likes of Britany Spears, Hilary Duff, The Simpson sisters and the like, etc. That was my only point. It's not called American Singer....looks and personality play very prominent roles in being the American Idol.

I think she did a great job with Over the Rainbow (again.....); when the song "fits" her, she does extremely well._________________________________________________

He was offered the job of lead singer for the group Fuel.
As for AI, I think Kat will score an upset over Taylor. I think Taylor is the better singer overall, but Kat has the looks as well. In many ways, she got the complete package. It's hard to market Taylor since he would sound like a cut-rate Michael McDonald. -

Taylor won because he is more marketable. Kat is very good, but not unique. When the folks at SNL spoofed him a few weeks ago, he was already being recognized in pop culture as an iconic figure.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Actually, my Favorite singer was the bald rocker dude. He was awesome. -

My prediction is that in the long run Kat will fair better than Taylor. I'm sorry but his singing is good at best. I've heard better Karoke singers in the local bar. He does has the edge in personality however. I've never been sucked into this type of show and this year I was (yuck). Only because of Kat. I'm staying far away next year as I could put the time to much better use.

I thought it was live....
As for the other comments, I never really liked Taylor. He seems like a nice enough guy, and certainly has a personality, but nothing special in the singing department. He's got a good voice, but nothing worthy of winning the competition.
And BTW, American Idol "owns" them for like 6 or 9 months or something, after that they're free to sign contracts with whomever they want.... except maybe the winner. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
If you don't think the show is fixed your crazy. Their is no way these two were the best singers, American Idol has come to realize that none of their winners as really made in the mainstream, so they push their winners to parts of the music business they will do well. Carrie Underwood is a country star, Fantasia is a bust, Ruben Studdard was a semi bust, being out sold by Clay Aikens. Taylor has a niche and they AI does not want to keep putting up winners that turn out to be bust in the music industry. Look at the departed singers the one black girl was to big, the other to young and R&B is a very hard niche to crack. The other rocker also would have a hard time going mainstream, it;s all fixed.
CRJ -
I liked them both, although Chris was the best out of the bunch.
In my opinion, Kat is the better singer and Taylor is the better "entertainer".
Both will sell a lot of records, however, once Kat records her own material and expands beyond the American Idol general audience, I think she will sell more music than Taylor.Receiver: harmankardon AVR235

Hahaha, I love the conspiracy theories about it being fixed. It's VOTED on. It's a popularity contest, and the American public can be dumb. Of course the "best singer" isn't going to win every time, because there's always a faction voting for the hometown person, or someone they think is hot. Hell, if the best singer won, I think Parris should have made it. That girl's voice was incredible. If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I never even considered watching this show before this year, but once I heard Paris, I found myself watching. She was awesome, and once she was booted, I stopped watching. Seemed to me, she was far and away the most talented contestant.
As for the conspiracy theories, you hear a lot about the phone lines being tied up with too many calls. Seems that this would ensure that voting is as close as possible, but not necessarily determine a winner.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. Probably made more money than anyone except Kelly Clarkson.Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support

Wow, I'm surprised about the Paris comments. I actually thought she was the best singer, too. No question about it. Great stage presence as well. A natural.
I think she is only 16 or 17 years old, and she has the capacity to sell records to young and old alike.
In regards to the show being fixed -- well of course it is. Everything on TV is fixed (even most of the live shows.) It would be naive to think otherwise. The popular vote doesn't mean a damn thing (kinda like the last two Bush elections).HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
