Got the LSI, Getting the Sunfire, Preamp?

My system:
LSI 25
LSI 9
LSI FX
LSI C
PSW1000
Most likely AMP = Sunfire Cinema Grand 200-7
What Preamp? I like Denon Recievers, should I use one of those, maybe a 2807 or perhaps whatever they are coming out with next that has HDMI Video Switching and a Preout for a AMP.
I dont want to pay a fortune, because all I will be using it for is my components, and for HDMI Video Switching. Any suggestions?
Oh and a question for anyone who can answer it, the AMP is where the Speakers draw there power, with a Powered Sub, it draws from itself from what I gathered, does it matter what type of Preamp you have as far as quality of sub goes?
Thanks for any input!

You might think about another Sunfire. The TG5 has the HDMI switch you need.

Or you could go with the Ultimate Receiver II if you could live without HDMI switching.

With that Sunfire Theater Grand Processor-5, would I need the Sunfire Cinema Grand 200-7 as an AMP then for my LSI system? If so then I consider a fortune 2000 bucks.....If all I am using this Preamp for is HDMI switching and a Subwoofer Output and Preout for an Amp, I could get something like a Denon 2807 correct? Please give any suggestions. My budget for this would probably be 1500 bucks.

Yes, you would need to get the CG 200-7 with the TG5. The TG5 is a PRE-amp.
That's why I question if you REALLY need HDMI switching. If you have component video, you could do both (amp and pre) with the receiver. -
Right now the Denon 2807 is the only receive or pre-amp that i know of that can accept multichannel pcm via hdmi. That means you can get the high def audio from hd-dvd players, blu-ray players, and the ps3 if you buy one.Speakers: LSi9 x 2, LSic, LSiFX x 2, Velodyne HGS-15
Amps & Power: Rockford Fosgate T8004 x 3, Cascade Audio APS-55 power supplies x 5, and 1 farad capacitor.
Electronics: Denon 3806, Toshiba HD-A1, & Sony KDL46XBR2
Accessories: Anti-IC interconnects, 8 Mondo Traps from Realtraps, and Salamander furniture. -
Yes you can use the Denon 2807 as a preamp with the Sunfire amp. And if for some reason your amp kicks the bucket, you can use the receiver by itself until you get the amp repaired.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

I have the Sunfire Theater Grand II and like it alot better than I liked my Onkyo.
I am thinking about upgrading to the Sherbourn 7010 to match my amp.Skynut

so is this 2807 a new denon model? did they start going back down in model numbers? Ive wanted a 3805 forever, then came the 3806.. so is the 2807 the new "****" for receivers by denon.. just wondering, hard to keep up.MY HT RIG:

not sure just how new it is, but it is the only one that I know of that can accept multichannel pcm via hdmi. I would guess that the higher models (3806, 4806, ect) can do the same thing, but i would look it up in the manual for sure.Speakers: LSi9 x 2, LSic, LSiFX x 2, Velodyne HGS-15

The 2807 is the newest receiver for Denon right now(hence the 7 in the model number). I don't think it quite up to the same power specifications with the 3806, but the HDMI capabilities make a very interesting piece of equipment.Tschüss

Yep, Denon uses year codes for the last 2 digits of their model numbers. -
And as you slide up the thousands digit from 2 to 4 etc., the biggest difference is in the amplifier section with the 4s and 5s able to handle some moderate low impedance loads. So with seperate amplification, you can actually slide down the scale to get a pretty nice pre-amp for the cost.

ah cool, Thanks.. denon is making some nice units lately.MY HT RIG:

He already has a Sunfire amp, so he doesn't have to worry about the power that the Denon puts out.:Dokiepolkie wrote:The 2807 is the newest receiver for Denon right now(hence the 7 in the model number). I know. I was just providing information about the Denon. Oh, and I'd go Sunfire if I could muster up the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$Tschüss

Ok, so from what i gather, I could use the 2807 as a preamp. Otherwise does anyone recommend anything else for the Preamp? Maybe I should wait a little while to see what other 07 models come out and if they have HDMI Video Switching with a Preout for AMP and a Subwoofer Out..
-
If you NEED the HDMI switching/upconversion, I might wait a few more months to get an actual pre-amp that has those features built in. There are several other companies that make good pre-amps, and are considerably cheaper than Sunfire.Tschüss

If you're still talking about the Denon models, the 07s higher up the chain might only make you pay more for amplification that you don't need. They will have some other stuff like multi-zone listening etc. But unless you have some interest other than HDMI switching, my guess is that the electronics (HDMI, preouts, at least) might not be all that different. Denon's always been good with its receivers, because it always seems to have a robust state of the art feature set. But, as has already been said, you can wait for some of the "real" pre-amp companies to catch up...and their internal electronics will give you more high end options without paying for the excess baggage of the receiver section amplifier. -
I to would second Okie's and Cheddar's suggestion on waiting for the o7's to be released. The Sunfires tend to be on the high side. But boy do I love them.Oppo bdp 93 Blue Ray
