Bi-amping?????

Hello people I read on the Onkyo website that one guy bought the Onkyo 2-channel amp to "bi-amp" his Rti12's. What does that actually mean??? Did he bridge the 2-channel amp to "mono" and use one for each Rti12? The amp is rated at 100X2 rms. Does that mean he is getting at least 200 X1 rms per speaker? Please help me with this.
The way one uses a product is a much more SIGNIFICANT factor than which product(s) he uses.
