SoundBridge

I'm thinking about getting a Roku SoundBridge M1000 ($199) and hook it up to my Onkyo 603, using an optical digital cable.
I will use my wireless network (Roku's specs say 802.11b works) to stream music from my Windows PC to the Soundbridge.
I will use my Windows XP PC as a music server, starting off running Windows Media Connect. I will rip all of my CDs onto my hard drive using WMA Lossless format (Grant Greens "Idle Moments" used 376 mb for 64 minutes of music and I can get a 250 gb hd for less than $80.00) I also like the idea of streaming audio from the internet.
Has anybody done something like this?
Does it make sense?
Listening to a CD, how is the sound quality of streamed audio compared to a CD played on my Sony CDP?
