Better than Monster. I'm not familiar with Fusion.

Here is a thread of several club members that demoed a Nordost Solar Wind IC. Several folk had really good things to say about the Nordost.

B1, the best info is that there's no good reason to seriously consider spending what any of the three, especially Nordost and Monster, charge. Cables which handle the rather simple job of an interconnect without audible flaws are available at a reasonable cost from sources such as MonoPrice and Total Signal .

One person's opinion. Nothing more, nothing less. I suggest you read all available information, if possible demo them, then decide for yourself.

Thanks for all your input. Reason I ask is that someone from Audiogon is selling me his nordost interconnect (3 cables) for $115 shipped. so I don't know exactly if this a good deal or not. But after reading the the thread (thanks Shack), I think it is worth the investment. Again, thanks to everyone.

Good price for the cables. If you don't like them or you don't hear an improvement, you can probably sell them for what you paid. Not much of a risk.

I demoed the Nordost and they are a fine cable. I found the silver to be a bit bright and the bottom end lacking a bit. However (in my system) the midrange was very rich and buttery smooth. Best midrange clarity and openess I've heard so far in my system. I just couldn't make them work because of the siblance (extreme in a few cases) and lack of authority on the bottom end. Too bad, I really tried to make them work.

If it will tend to brighten up my system, as it already is, then I don't think this is for me. BTW, I forgot to mention my current system:

    RTi10
    CSi5
    FXi5
    Yamaha RXV1400
    Onkyo 282
    PSW10
    B&k 3140 (arriving very soon)

I am currently using monster and I thought nordost could somehow minimize the brightness in my speakers. Would it then be better for me just to change my RTi10 to the LSi series? What do you guys think? Thanks. BTW I do 50/50 HT/music.

IMO, RTi speakers are bright by design. Maybe good for HT, but bad for music. Draw your own conclusions.

All I can say is if you can get a good deal, give 'em a try and flip 'em if they don't work out. The only way to know for sure is to listen for yourself. As F1 stated RTi's are bright that's just part of their sound signature. My RTA's with the original sl2000 tweets have their own issues as well.

    Good luck

P.s. Of course +1 on changing to the Lsi's. You've got the B&K on the way.
