Monitor 40 VS CS1

Yes, I know, they are a center and a bookshelf, BUT they look the same to me..... drivers are the same size, same tweeters..

Anyways, the main question is, can I use the Monitor 40 as a center instead of the CS1??? Yes, they are rated differently, the monitor goes a tad bit lower...

    sure it'll work. With the exception of the cabinet shape and possible variances in the crossover, the speakers are identical. And you can even biamp the monitor 40.

    Has anyone ever used floor standing speakers for surrounds??

    Should be fine, no reason not to if you have the space.

    I tried it and for some reason the 40's had more of a "hollow" sound to it, so I removed it quickly.

    O really.. good to know, good thing I circuitcity didn't have any open bozed monitor 40's for 60 bucks last nigght.
