Opinions on Dared tube amps

I have been pricing various tube options as I will have an opportunity to do some upgrades after a sale of my home.
I have seen several threads on the Dared pre-amps and that they have a good performance for their price point.
I wonderred if anyone has used Dared amps, and what their opinion on them might be. Also I have been looking at single ended stuff, but am initially put off by the low power as I like my volume rather loud.
It looks like the 845 tube gets single ended amps in the 20-25 WPC range which may help my power hungry side. Dared also has some amps based on this driver tube. Any opinions on this tube in single ended?
Appreciate any input.

Do lots of reading up on Dared amps on the web. Some have had great luck, some no so great to be kind. As for any DIY mods like changing caps, and resistors is only for the well advanced diy folks. The average 845 amplifier has well over 1,200 volts or more lurking inside it. I would be scared of you know what upgrading any caps, and tinkering would be out of the question for me. Have you considered a good push pull tube amplifier? A good pp amp like my pair of Klimo EL34 mono blocks has 35 wpc and it sounds great. I own both SET and PP amps. Both can do things right and sound very good. I myself would question the quality of the parts in Dared amps but YMMV. I would suggest if you do go the Dared route or most any Far East amplifier on fleabay that you instead buy it from a US importer. You may pay a little more for it, but if it breaks and needs warranty work shipping it back for repairs is big bucks. There is a rather masochistic felow over at AA who has had multiple cheap flea bay Far East bargain tube amps go into smoke mode on him. The shipping to and from the Far East can easily negate any savings over buying one from legitimate distributors. Good luck! John
