Listening to music is fun again ...

Since I got my new 2-channel setup, sitting and listening to music has become fun once again.

Prior to this, I would listen to music in my car or listen passively while doing some other work. But now, it is fun, coming back home, putting on a CD and just sitting in front of the speakers (on the floor!!! lol!) and listening ...

My fav. CD's sound as if they just went to the mastering studio and got remastered. Even CD's and music I didn't care for that much sound awesome ...

My rig:
  • B&W 804s
  • Krell 400Xi

... and I have a $100 DVD player as source!!!

My wife who has always been more passionate about music totally loves the new setup. And of course, nothing like making a nice drink (edited - will be posting a more exotic drink!!) and sitting down and listening to some glorious music ...

Congrats on the enjoyment of your new setup!

I was really liking that post until I got to "vodka and coke" and started to dry heave a bit.

Awesome. Glad to hear the Krell and B&W's are bringing the joy.
You might find in the future an upgrade to the CD player would just sweeten it up that much more.

    Enjoy.

Thanks folks!! As you can see I removed the "vodka & coke" bit - need to find a more exotic drink :D

It's amazing how many non-Polk are on this forum - awesome! I guess it's because we all start with Polks.

btw ... I'm still enjoying my Polk Monitor HT setup since I couldn't get a buyer for them. Good for me!

Awesome! Krell 440Xi, I'm jealous. I want to run my LSi9 on that one day. Enjoy your rig and crank the music.

Make some pina colada or mai tai to accompany the warm tropical sound of your rig;).

I second that. You wouldn't be disappointed in a RCD-02, either.

    I know! I know! I need a CD player :)

I don't think I'm getting a CD player for a while due to financial constraints but I'm enjoying my current setup nevertheless.

I'm sometimes surprised and always amused at how many come to CP for HT advice and wind up finding a new affinity for or rediscovering music with killer 2 channel rigs once they hang around.

Count me in that club and congrats on your new rig. Let it soak in for a couple months and then upgrade the CDP or DAC and report back.:D

For CD players in $500-$700 price range, if you don't care about HDCD decoder, I would also recommend Arcam 73.
