I was bored listening to a conference call today(rah rah speech from upper management) so I went surfing on EBAY and saw a H/K AVR55 locally.
The bid was about $15 with a day to go. The description said everything lights up, but theres no sound from the speakers, so its as is. The guy has just posted pictures due to bidders messages. I look at the rear photo, and I notice the jumpers for the main speakers from the pre out to the power in are between the L&R of each section instead of between L out to Left in, ETC.
I send the guy a message telling him to flip the jumpers. The item was immediately pulled from auction! I got a thank you email from the guy, saying it works great now. He even offered to send me a $25 gift certificate to thank me. I told him thanks, but thats ok. I did tell him that I would retain the right to make fun of his mistake. :D

Hahaha. You retain the right to make fun of his mistake. That's good.

It's also good to hear you didn't take advantage of his plight, but let him know what was up. Awesome deed. I mean, it was certainly better than paying attention to a conference call!

No. Too much upper level arse kissing action for us grunts to get a word in.
Thats an hour of my life I'll never get back.
I see I'm not the only one to notice the jumpers! I should save that photo for a game of "one of these things is not like the others".

LOL I been there. Some things never change.

I do admire your integrity in pointing the problem out to the seller. Your right, it makes a great "What is wrong wth this picture."

I bet you made the guy's day. fing32.gif

Good to see there are at least a couple people still out there willing to sacrifice personal gain to help a complete stranger.
