In Love and Addicted!

Over the weekend I got a sweet deal at C.C. on Monitor 30's for rears to complete my system. They were out of stock, so I bought the floor model for a discounted price $154. I set them up on 24" speaker stands and was in Heaven for the rest of the evening listening to my favorite CD's. I'm so excited about my speakers that I've been watching regular tv in surround just because it sounds so damn good! I think I'm in love!?

And another thing... since I got started on this forum last month, I check it probably every day or every other day. Is this one of the signs of being addicted?

My next project will be figuring out how to hook up my sub differently so that it is on when I'm listening in stero mode. I read something about this in a previous thread.

Circuit City has them normally priced at $198 pair- got 'em for $154 pair.
The Omni Mount stands normally cost $49, but I got the floor model for $25 pair!

I run a pair of Monitor 30's as side surrounds, and I enjoy the sound that the little buggers put out.

Yep, you're on the road to addiction. But you have to do something "wrong" in life or else people will expect you to walk on water. And considering all the other wrong things you could be doing, well.... you ain't doing too bad.

    Dejavu. . .

I started along this path by buying four Monitor 30's onsale at Tweeter for $130/pair and a center speaker (they even threw in a free sub). I thought I had hit the jackpot and had a 5.1 speaker setup for $500 bucks!!! They'll practically give you the entry level stuff for free to get you hooked. . . just like a crack dealer.

Check out my sig now to see what I've done over the last 4 months. ENJOY!!!

Congrats Ern Dog. Nothing like finding a sweet deal.

And yep, sounds like you are on the road to addiction. I started with a Yamaha home-theater-in-a-box (except it was an out-of-box item) a few years ago. Now I can't stop.

Also, it shouldn't be hard to get your sub to play in 2-channel mode. On my Denon I have to turn the sub on in the "Advanced Playback" options, I believe. Somebody here should now exactly how to turn it on with your Onkyo.

    Enjoy.

no, I need the twenty bucks! I am "ALMOST" finish with my entry level system..... I have Polk R30's for fronts, R15's for surrounds, and I am waiting for the next best deal on a center, Acoustech H100 for the sub, onkyo sr303s for the receiver.... philips dvd player... sony 20inch crt...

In fact, I was thinking about replacing the R30's and move them to the back.... but then I thought, where the heck am I gonna get the money.. I am a dang high schooler... soooo off to finishing this baby then maybe after high school I can bust out more money for a better system..

Sigh.. O well, when my R15's comes, time to bust out final fantasy VII advent children dans l'anglais!!!!!!!!!!
