New member, new to Polk, Hi to all and thanks for a great place to learn and exchange. Just recently picked up a pair of RTA-11T's from a local charity. Despite missing grills and rough edges, I decided to buy them based on the fact that:
1. all the drivers appeared in good shape(rubber surrounds, unmolested dust caps. 2. Polk Audio's reputation for quality products. 3. Price ($50./pr. Even if they were dogs, I figured the cabinets were worth that much) 4. I'm a speaker/electronics freak.
So I get home to audition the Polks. I'm currently running Pioneer Elite stuff (M-91 amp, C-90 control amp, F-91 tuner, Sony CDP-C85ES CD changer) with a pair of Klipsch KG-4's and Boston Acoustics T-1000s sharing time with a host of other salvaged vintage gear. Due to a limited budget(I'm a starving student) all my equipment has been sourced through the thrift stores and charities in and around Los Angeles. So not everything is in top condition but I have some knowledge, coupled with a curious nature and not alot to lose $-wise so I do most of my own refurbishing. Anyway, the audition goes well but there were some issue with the high end. That's when I found your site, and in turn this forum which led to many posts re: tweeter upgrades.
Please confirm for me: upgrade SL-2000 with RD0194-1
Talk to Ken and mention club membership for discount and free shipping.
Thanks again. Sorry to be long-winded. More to follow

Russ...lol.
I think he wants to know if the RD0194-1 is the replacement for the SL2000. The answer would be yes.Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."

Welcome to the Forum tuffgong! Congrats on your RTA's! As F1 pointed out, the RD-0194's are the correct replacement for your SL2000's. Yes, call Polk Customer Service and talk with Ken if he's available. Eric is also a good guy who can help you. Again, welcome to Club Polk and join the Forums for interesting discussions and the opportunity to learn a lot and hear different perspectives on audio.Carl
