I am not an electrician so this might sound stupid to some people, but....
I want to run:
50" Plasma
Pioneer VSX-72TXV Receiver
Pioneer DV-79AVi
Directv DVR
Outlaw 770
Two powered subs (LSi25)
All through a MonsterPower 5000(I know it is disliked, but it was a gift). This equipment will be connected to the one power center.
The big question!!!!!! Will my house wireing be able to handle the power draw???????

YEP...should be OK.Plug everything into the monster except
the subs on the speakers, they will sound better.Of coarse,
a dedicated line is the best option, but if you don't have alot of other
things on the line your useing, such as ,washer, dryer, fridge, you should
be OK.Read the specs on your stuff......and the monster has switched
outlets so your not powering up all at once.:D
BTW-You heard other members say it....Get a amp for the LSI's champ.HT SYSTEM-

No,plug the subs straight into the wall outlet.the subs will sound
week if you go into the monster because of filtering process it does.
At least untill you get the proper protection that doesn't do any
filtering.Search some threads here, other members are useing
some good and well priced gear to protect subs and amps.HT SYSTEM-

Monster stuff is good for TV,CDP,AVR,But on high current devices
like the amp in your subs or a seperate amp, they are not the ideal
form of protection.HT SYSTEM-

The Monster is rated at 15A (1800 watts) max. The Outlaw amp alone draws 1800 watts max.
Wouldn't this possibly overload the Monster power center? -

1800 watts at full volume during a peak to all channels at once. Not likely to ever happen in real life. There are two ways to argue with women. Both of them are wrong. -
Ok, I know I'm probably gonna get criticized for this (Hmm, I WILL get criticized) but believe it or not ALL my gear is running off of 2 Monster Power units that are plugged into ONE outlet. This is a temporary thing because I will soon be demolishing a wall in the basement and moving this gear into that wall and running several dedicated power sources straight from the fuse box to the wall.
I've pumped up the volume to 110 db so far and there hasn't been any power related problems that I can see, although I certainly didn't run it at that power for any length of time.
I have watched complete movies and to me the subs seem to be working fine (the walls shake and the "booms" have that "go through your body" feel). I'm not sure how much better the subs would get by having the amp fed by a dedicated power line, but I'll find out when I make the move.
Oh, and for those who remember my popping SRS's, I found a solution to it.Amplifiers: 1-SAE Mark IV, 4-SAE 2400, 1-SAE 2500, 2-SAE 2600, 1-Buttkicker BKA 1000N w/2-tactile transducers. Speakers:Polk SDA SRS, 3.1TL, FXi5, FXi3, 2-SVS 20-29, Yamaha, SVS center sub. Power:2-Monster HTS3500, Furman M-8D & RR16 Plus. 2-SAE 4000 X-overs, SAE 5000a noise reduction, MSB Link DAC III, MSB Powerbase, Behringer 2496, Monarchy DIP 24/96. -
Yes....it's not a football stadium.
Everything else is subjective....plug it in and have fun before the forum fills your head with more "ideas".CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
I've got more theoretical max power to go through my power center and haven't had any problems. My power center also has the same max current also.Brian Knauss
