Ok first here's my current setup:

Alpine CDA 9831
Polk/MOMO MMC6500
Polk/MOMO MMC650
Polk/MOMO C400.4
MTX SLHT5510A

I have an MTX SLHT5510 Sledgehammer box w/ 10" MTX 5510 woofer (300W RMS @4 ohms) currently powered by a POS no name 2 channel that i was given for free (now going to my brother). I just got a C500.1 (350W RMS @4 ohms), and currently have the Metra/Tsunami AMP1220BL wiring kit, which is basically 4 gauge running to a distribution block that runs 8 gauge to each. Is it safe to run 8 gauge to each amplifier?

Yes but 4 guage would be better and 1/0 from the battery and then 4 to the amps would be ideal.

I would go bigger than the 4ga if you are going to redo the wire run. Since you already have a 4ga run, I would just purchase another 4ga. This way each amp will have it's own 4ga power cable, and it will cost less.

If your running a 4 channel amp 8 gauge is fine to run if your running components off of it.

Components don't pull large amounts of current like subwoofers so it's not hurting your performance any.

But when your running subs on any amp you need at least 4 gauge wire. Subs draw huge amounts of current.

It depends on the amp and its current draw.

You wouldnt necessarily want to run 8 guage to a Crossfire 8004 which puts out about 150x4!

Same with sub amps. There is no need to run 4 guage to a 300x1 mono amp.

8 gauge wire will pull 60 amps of current thats about equal to 100 rms x 4 or 400 watts rms.

Which would be less than the 600 put out by the 8004, especially if you ran it at 2 ohms stereo which would be over 800 RMS. Way too big for 8 guage wire.

theres a little more to current that determines the size of wire you need...and wire does not "pull" current

The amp pulls the current but the flow of current flows through the wire smart ****. My point was about 60 amps of current draw is about all 8 gauge can handle.
