Ok, been busy dealing with car issues....

Got the sub in this weekend. The box volume is about a cube after taking into account the driver's displacement. The thing sounds very nice, and it has the extra punch that I wanted. Always nice to get a little more pronounced low end

did you not have a sub before???

i guess youre running it in series at 4 ohms? I want new stuff!!!! My new 8" midbasses should be here anyday:D

I did have a sub. It was a Sounsplinter RL-i10. That sub is a very nice sub, produces clean bass, and has nice outpout (has 20mm of linear excursion). I wanted a little more oomph in my low end, and this sub did it. I do have it wired for a 4ohm load. My amp puts out about 400 watt RMS. This sub has 16mm of linear excursion, this along with the added cone area (compared to my 10" sub) works out nicely.

ahhh thats right, forgot about the SS. If/when my brahmas blow, ive been thinking about them

I would have gone with the RL-p from them, but my amp in the size of box that I wanted would not have worked to my satisfaction. The 12" requires about 1.5 cubic feet, you can get by with 1.33 or so, but with 400 watts it may not have been a good match. With the Arc sub, I have it in the sweet spot for the box volume, and have it powered properly.
