After not being completely happy with the audio features of my P8, I decided to sell that to a friend of mine and picked up the Pioneer Premier DEH-P880PRS. I'll be installing it in about an hour, as soon as I go get my truck. Pictures and reviews to come :)

I'm a little slow these days. The pictures aren't coming out all that great, so we'll forget about them for now. There's a few things I've found that weren't mentioned in anything I read about it, but are great none the less. You can shut off the internal amp, which is awesome, especially since I will never use it. The display on it can also be turned off, so after your done hittin any buttons, the screen will turn itself off, but the buttons stay illuminated. Another plus because now there is even less things running, less things to interfere. You can also set it up as a three way network, which I'll be doing as soon as I pick up another set of RCA's. I'm still kinda toolin around with the eq and ta. It's a 16 band l/r eq, but I haven't figured out how to choose which side to adjust, and I don't feel like reading the manual. So for now I'm stuck with adjusting both sides at the same time, which isn't too big of a deal for now. That's all I can think of for right now cause I'm shot from working non-stop this weekend. If there's something else you wanna know just ask.

I finally have my HU running in 3-way mode. Very nice to be able to do this. I can time align my tweeters and mids independently. I opted to go passive as the crossovers included with the set are very good and have a ton of tuning options.

I am thinkig of going back to rear speakers though. I only engage them when my family is in the car. I will miss the ability to further tune the front speakers via TA. I will throw my old Polk DB 3065's back there :D.

I may look at the 880PRS for my wife's car..........

I'm looking foward to when I do that. Cause right now, I'm trying to adjust the left side, while the left tweeter and left mid are like a foot apart. I've got it down pretty good right now, but still needs more. I also need to drop the tweeter level a hair on the crossovers, I just havent had the time, nor do I feel like climbing in the back seat of my truck to do it.

The nice thing about going the 3-way mode is that you wont have to do that any more :). You can drop those db's off from the HU.

Have you tried doing the auto time alignment thing?

Yeah, I did the auto TA and EQ, and then tweaked it afterword. It gives you a good starting point though. I thought the stage was a little off, and I felt it was lacking a bit of mid-bass and bass. And I've got 16 bands too tool around with too...

Yeah, I did the same thing with my 8600MP. I never really used the auto EQ setting as I though it boosted certain frequencies too much. Still, nice features to have.

Something else I found today, is that one of the display options are a voltage meter, which I think is pretty neat...

i have yet to figure out how to distinguish between right and left as well on our display. As far as the voltage meter goes, a lot of Pioneers radios have that. Even from a few years ago. Pioneer really stepped it up this year though. Last year the p8, 860, and 960 were the only motorized ones. Now, even the 680 is motorized. Good stuff.

Ive been thinking long and hard about the 880, but ive decided to go with the 6800. Its a double din screen, but still comes with a 24bit burr brown converter and 5V outputs. Im adding on the navigation as well. Why? Because employee accomadations are soooo nice.
