Need help matching mains to my center

Hey guys,

I was looking to upgrade my Infinity Reference speakers that I have had forever.

Someone recently gave me a Polk CS400i center channel and I was looking into building a system based off of that center. I have been interested in the monitor 70 or the RTi8 for the front mains. Which ones would match my center the best?

I will be running off an Onkyo TX-SR503.

Thanks

    Welcome to the club,
If it were me I would look for the RT series that was available when that center was new.
I used to use the Rt2000p's for my left and right duty in my HT rig.
They are not the best for 2 channel listening but were good for HT.
The Rt800i's would also be a good match if you have the patience to find them.
I have never heard the monitors or the rti8's so I will not comment on them.
    Good luck to you.

if you can't find any of the older RT models the RTi8 will be a closer match to your CS400i than the monitors, I used a CS400i and a set of RTi6's in my HT for about a year with no problems.

    Thanks.
I will keep an eye out for the older RT models.
I came across some RT800's is there a big difference between the 800 and the 800i. Since the center is an "i" is that what I would want to stick with?

I'm not sure if there is anywhere in Oklahoma City where I can actually go listen to the RTi8. The only place I found so far is CC and they only carry the Monitors.

People say they hear a difference between the two but my ears are not that great.
I would try to match them just because I am like that.
