faulty tweeter on M70's?

Hey all..a few weeks ago i noticed that one of my M70's sounded horribly lifeless. I played with the balance a bit and it became obvious that the tweeter on one was no good. I posted earlier on here that i had to run some treble to be happy with the sound, now it makes sense, the good speaker had to overcompensate for the bad one. Anywhoo....my salesman said that it had to be faulty right from factory as the tweeter upon carefully examining it, was somewhat oblong and not a true round shape. They put a new one in and now i can run in direct mode again and they sound fan-friggin-tastic. Is this oblong factory tweeter a common thing or is there maybe something i could have done to cause this?
