Surround Speaker Setup Question
Hi,
It's my first time to post on the forum so please bear with me, thank you.
Just assembled a home theater and choose an in-ceiling speaker for surround coz I don't have in anyway to put like a bookshelf speaker in my family room. When the installer installed the speaker, the length of the speaker is not equal to each other. I only knew it when the installer was asking me to sign up for the bill and notice the price for the cable. For the length of the speaker cable, the surround left is about 16ft and the surround right is 21ft. I use an SPL meter to balance the speaker volume this is what I come out.
FR 5.0db 12ft delay time
CC 6.0db 11ft delay time
FL 5.0db 12ft delay time
SR 8.0db 8ft delay time
SL 9.0db 8ft delay time
I was thinking of changing the setup for the surround so that they will have the same volume level but different delay time (see below). Will this setup make a difference for the better OR I will just keep the current setup I have.
FR 5.0db 12ft delay time
CC 6.0db 11ft delay time
FL 5.0db 12ft delay time
SR 8.0db 10ft delay time
SL 8.0db 6ft delay time
Also, the current surround speaker installed is TC610i (recommended by the salesman) and not quite happy on it. I can still return/replace it and thinking of getting a TC60i. Between the 2 in-ceiling speaker, is there really a big difference (performance/sound wise) if it is mostly use as surround.
Appreciate any advise on this.
Thanks...

The SPL should be the same for all speakers. The delay is based solely on the distance of each speaker relative to the primary listening position.
