The largest helicopter in the world (MI-26) is coming to Yellowknife. The 3 diamond mines in the NWT have contracted the helicopter from Russia to transport a large amount of heavy material and equipment that failed to arrive at site due to the early closure of the ice-road. We had heard that the chopper would be here in about three weeks, but an early report indicated that the MI-26 was in Alaska awaiting good weather to head to Yellowknife. Hopefully we will be able to see it and grab a few shots.

Cool old pics - a lot of them still have the USSR registration. I was with the 31 SOS when I was at Osan AB ROK. I thought the MH53-J was a big bird, that HALO is a monster!
