Polk center speaker issue
My brother's new surround setup includes the Polk 6750's center channel and two Fisher tower speakers connected to a Denon 1706. Lets see if I can explain this right. The problem is the main audio sounds a bit muffled or like is lower (bassy?) than I guess it should be. It's noticable when there is the dialog coming out of the center. Makes it hard to hear what is said when there is also soundtrack and other noises at the same time, especially during action movies. Any suggestions?
I have the fronts wired to the sub output as suggested by Polk and the center directly to the receiver. Large for front and small for everything else with sub set to off.

might be that all the speakers are not set to the proper level. this can not successfully be done by ear. YOu need a Radio Shack.. Sound Level Meter. digital or analog, doesn't matter which one.
Use that meter to properly set up the audio levels for all your speakers. This is a common problem where people think you can set all speaker levels to zero or whatever.. and then find out that that some of the speakers require more volume than others do.
Could also be that the Fisher or the Polks are not as sensitive as the others.. thereby drowning out the lesser sensitive speaker(s). For best sound.. I suggest you replace the Fishers with Polks and the match between all of those fronts will be better and smoother.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
