I know the debate rages on and on about the importance of quality IC's and supposed snake-oil claims... but I thought I might share something short and sweet and to the point.
Last week I thought I would make my first purchase on Audiogon to begin establishing myself.... picked up a pair of Signal Cable Analog One's for $25 shipped. I wasn't really expecting anything, and to be honest with ya, was pretty much buying 'em for aesthetic purposes (they do look nifty).
Hooked 'em up.... and was floored by the improvement they offered over the $15 RCA IC's I was using from Target. The music was smoother, and for lack of a better word, seemed effortless. Most noticably (and forgive me for not using the proper terminolgy), the "sweet spot" opened up immensely -- no small feat considering that I'm running with a pair of Monitor 70's in a relatively small room. All and all, everything just sounded right
I've calibrated my system with a digital DSP from Rat Shack. I tinkered with speaker placement ad nauseum. I've graduated from using a cheap Toshiba DVD player to a stand-alone CDP for music. I've replaced the stock jumpers with "homemades" courtesy of BJC and bananas. And these Analog One's took the cake:D
And what's best, I wasn't expecting it. I just threw 'em on. No "sit-down" critical listening sessions. No A-B comparos. Nothing. Just an immediate, in my face, WOW -- whatcha know Joe? -- that was all the more satisfying because it came from so far out of left field.
I couldn't help but share this (though I'm sure many on this forum might be thinking "and?")
I love this hobby!!! Out and out.:)
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I only use signal cable all around, great price and build quality, and when can you say that if you leave an owner a voice mail he will get back to you the next day, not a CS rep, but the owner, niiiiiiiiiiiiice!

Yeah, I think they've won me over... and to think that the Analog Two's are supposed to be an even greater step-up (at a nominal charge). I know I can't speak for everyone, but maybe this is what is meant by synergy. These cables just really brought out a lot in my system. Again.. everything just sounds right... No effin' with the balance or asking the wife to participate in blind tests... just an immediate and obvious improvement. These IC's work wonders, at least on my gear....:) And to think, $25 spent just to dip my toes in the waters of Audiogon actually yielded results I would expect to pay much, much more for. A stroke of luck and a smile of grace from the Audio Gods.......:)

Well considering how affordable his wares are.... the SC product line seems to be a no-brainer (at least with my current set-up).

I think at his price point he is hard to beat, free shipping to Club Polk members is also a nice little add-on, buy with confidence, again whole system wired with SC and no plans to change anything. After break-in they actually sound a little better.

so what's your take on the differences between the Analog One's and the Analog Two's?

    ... and free shipping?!?

I have one pair of analog 2 in my 2 channel rig with the Lsi9, sound is a little tighter in the mid than the analog 1's, other than that sound is pretty much the same, to me.
