Having a hell of a time figuring out what to buy exactly. I have been going to tweeter's as of late and every time i want to buy cable's of any sort of course they tell me to get audioquest. But it just get's a little to price for my taste. Looking for something affordable but still has good quality. Thanks

I purchased IC's from Signal Cable and found both the price and quality to be very good.

JH, there're quite a few suppliers that fit your requirements; consider MonoPrice or Total Signal .

I was recently planning to buy a CD player (Rotel) and the dealer said that I need to buy this $350 interconnect cable by Siltech to do justice to the CD player.

I was thinking of going with around a $70-80 interconnect from Cobalt Cable.

I just can't comprehend that a $350 cable will make the player sound better than these $80 Cobalt Cable interconnects.

Yeah sure, technically they may sound better but can the human ear really pick up those subtle differences???

    Any thoughts?

I think yes you can hear the subtle differences but its just that. Subtle. So is the extra money worth the price jump? Only you can answer that. Obviously with your budget (which is still a damn good price range), I don't think you're gonna spring for it and honestly, I can't blame you. Now if you were buying a $3k CDP, it might be different. It's all relative IMO.

Thanks Toxis - looks like you recommend Cobalt Cable.

Do you like them? How are the Cobalt Cable speaker wires and interconnects? If you've used them - have you noticed a difference?

My dealer gave me free speaker wires and they seem quite good so I'm debating about spending money on cables at the moment.

I bought a pair of Audio Quest copperheads. I did an A B comparison with regular interconnects and the copperheads. I don't have the BEST ear, and I had a really hard time telling the difference between them. My testing was very limited (a couple songs), but the difference was so minimal that I'm not sure I heard it. I'll do some more testing because $80 for a pair of interconnects is a hell of a lot of money for almost no difference.

I have an ear enough to tell the difference in the DACs on the 3805 and 3910 though. So I have some idea of what I'm hearing...

Chalk up another vote for Signal Cable:)
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
