i currently have a Polk R50's for front and surround speakers.
I can get a good deal on a pair of rt/fx's. Would that be an upgrade from my current R50's, if it is.. would it be much of one?
My HT room is pretty long and currently my surround towers are facing each other at about the half way point in the room. A couch sits in between the surround towers..
The reason i would like to get wall mounted speakers is i would like to mount them higher and disperse the sound (bi-pole)to get more of a surround effect, because currently it seems like i can hear each surround speaker sepparately.

any ideas or suggestions on which way would be better... and how well the rt/fx speakers would match with my R50's ?

I'm not sure how much of an improvement the Rt/FX's would be for you. Overall, they would probably provide a more dispersed sound, however, the newer fx speakers might do a better job for you. Is there a wall behind you that the fx's will be pointing towards? If not, then the R50's would probably be better.

What are the actual dimensions and layout of your room? That might help us a little more.
