Hey guys I have a PSW10 sub and honestly I am not too happy with it I am thinking about getting Velodyne VX10GY. What do you guys thik? How does it compare to PSW10? ....Any other sugestions up to $300?
Also, circuit city lets you trade in electronics? So, I can go trade in my PSW10 there? How much would I get?
Audio system lost to water damage... :(

Welcome Critical to the board. You may have better luck asking this question and reading a bit in the subwoofer area.

in all honesty, I would wait till you had a little more cash to put up until you upgraded. The PSW10 is not a great subwoofer, but I don't know how much of an upgrade you will get moving to a $300 sub.

If you need to stick to your budget - here are 2 to consider HSU STF-1 or the smaller outlaw sub

If you can squeeze out a little more - this kit would yeild a pretty good sub.

SVS is great, but a little out of your budget - (although I am sure people will recommend it anyway...)

BTW - welcome to Club Polk. :)
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

Good suggestions on the HSU and Outlaw subs, but I would have to disagree on the Dayton kit. I built one last summer, very UNimpressive. One note bass, and it would reach the drivers excursion limits with a very loud clack at 100db.

Here is another suggestin if you are willing to spend a little more, free shipping to:

There was someone on here that had the dayton kit that liked it. That is where the recommendation came from. I would say strike it from the list since once built - you cannot return it. (unless you can pick one up used for a low price and can resell it for little loss if you don't like it.)

I used to have the Dayton kit 10" sub. Very good sub. Good quality, nice price. Great for a small room.

Yeah, I'd also suggest waiting a while until you can save up about $400 - $500 and get a Hsu STF-2 or entry level SVS.
HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50” LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Nice sub, but it has been on backorder for months. I'm sure the waiting list is pretty substantial and who knows if they won't jack the price on the new shipments.
At the price this sub was at it was just about the price vs performance leader. Sold like hotcakes. I think a good percentage of the AVS forum members are waiting for it to come back in stock as well.

Parts Express has fantastic customer service, after building it, they let me return it with no problems. I was told the 45 day return policy applies to everything.

Ok, so I did some research about Mirage Omni S12...and I'm about to order one at $400. Good deal?
"I'm sure the waiting list is pretty substantial and who knows if they won't jack the price on the new shipments." They can't raise the prise after I agreed to pay $400...right?

I would highly recommend the HSU VTF2, this sub plays clean and low and won't break the bank. I think it is the best sub at 400.00 to 600.00 bar none. They have a 30 day try out period as well although I doubt you will send it back. The neat thing about this sub is that it has the option to play down to 26hz at lower volumes (with the foam plug in) or play down to 32hz loudly (with the plug out). And this technology really does work, I own this sub and it is a thing of beauty to listen to, very musical and tight bass. Good luck.
If you can catch it, I can cook it.

Vann's is a legit dealer with excellent service. They have been running the $400 special off and on for almost a year now. They will not raise the price on you.
