Went to a garage sale and found this. It needs some work, but the case and front panel are in very good shape. Model 4270. Quad.:)

The best part is it included a very clean copy of the manual and a schematic!
After a quick pot cleaning and test, I've pulled it apart for more cleaning and to replace the tuner panel lights. This one has a lot more controls than a normal receiver. The unit does turn up and work, but the fm section needs some adjustment. Even if it doesn't ever work perfectly, it makes a nice home office decoration! Sorry honey , the plant has to go.:D

I'm not so young. The original owner bought it at the USMC base exchange in Okinowa in 78'. I bought a Marantz integrated amp at the same place in 77':)

Marantz Quads will bring a pretty penny, I've sold quite a few recently.

For me, as far as the Marantz receivers go, give me a 2252 or 2270, and I'll call it a day.

It works. The panel lights are shot. Sound like the FM section needs adjustment. The amp section sounds ok. Been working too much lately to do hardly anything. Sleep has been real hard to find time for this week!

    Marine or Air Force?
The thing that really escaped me was the big reel to reel. I kept waiting for this one model to come back in stock, but it never did. Damned if I remember now what model it was. Curse of getting old!

Shoot and I gave mine to my step-father. It was given to me for free, it sat in the closet for months. He wanted something for the office so I gave it to him:o
